Instructions for Applying for August 2012 Graduation
 
■ General Schedule on Graduation
 
 - Early graduation request: Fri. June 1, 2012 – Fri. June 15, 2012
 - Graduation check: Fri. June 1, 2012 – Fri. June 15, 2012
 - English name verification: Fri. June 1, 2012 – Fri. June 29, 2012
 - Graduation Requirement Check: Fri. June 1, 2012 – Fri. June 8, 2012 (6 pm)
 - Report on Final Thesis Defense for Graduate Students: Due Fri. June 29, 2012
 - Degree conferment for the 2011 second semester: Fri. August 10, 2012
 
■ Request for Graduation check: Mandatory for all students who are scheduled to graduate.

1. Purpose
  A. To check for the students who are scheduled to graduate
  B. For administrative follow-ups by all related administrative teams for graduate-to-be’s
 
2. Period: Mon. November Fri. June 1, 2012 – Fri. June 15, 2012
 
3. How to request:
   Log on to POVIS (https://povis.postech.ac.kr/irj/portal), then go to
   Academic Affairs -> Graduation -> Account Clearance for Graduation -> click on the "Add New" button (Log into POVIS -> Academic Affairs -> 졸업 -> 졸업정산신청 -> 생성 button -> Fill in the form -> 저장 button)
 
4. You must check for the followings upon applying for graduation
  A. All books that you borrowed from the library must be returned (until July 6, 2012)
       ☞ contact person: Kang, Yun-hee (279-2545)
  B. Submitting theses
     1) Electronic copies and one License Agreement (may be printed out after online registration of a thesis is completed) must be submitted through the Library homepage (http://library.postech.ac.kr)
     2) Submit 4 hard-bound copies
       - Period: June 25, 201 ~ July 6, 2012
       - Place to submit your thesis: Room 210 of Tae-Joon Park Digital Library ☞ contact person: Yu, Dong-hoon (279-2546)
  C. Phone Bill
      - If you are a resident of the Graduate Student Apartment, you must notify the Information Technology Services Team of your schedule to move out of the Apartment after requesting for graduation check.
      - If you are leaving the apartment after residing there for a certain period of time, make sure you pay any outstanding phone bills and request the Information Technology Services Team to stop the phone service.
      - Name of the Bank and the account number to deposit the amount for the phone bill: Woori bank, Acct. No. 1005-401-131023 (Account Name: POSTECH)

   D. Dormitory and Graduate Student apartments retirement
      - Residents of the Student Dormitories and Graduate Student Apartments must remove all their belongings from rooms or apartments.
       - Follow the procedure of checking out of the Dormitories or Graduate Student Apartments with the Housing Office.

   E. Change of Address
      - Confirm your address registered on POVIS and make changes if necessary.
      -  How to change address on POVIS: Login to POVIS -> Academic Affairs -> Student Information -> Address -> Click on the line where you need to change the address
      -> Click on the Change button -> Make changes -> Save
      (POVIS LOGIN ->Academic Affairs -> 개인정보 -> 주소 -> Click on the line where you need to change the address -> Click on 변경 button -> Make changes -> 저장)
      - All phone numbers must include hyphens (-) where needed

  F. Once you completed A - E, visit GIFT Admin. Office and complete the graduation check procedure.
    ■ English Name Verification and Correction
      1. Purpose: to record on the English documents and the diploma
      2. Period: Mon. June 1 ,2012 – Fri. June 29, 2012 
      3. Procedure
          A. Login to POVIS -> Academic Affairs -> Student Information -> Personal Information (POVIS Login -> Academic Affairs -> 개인정보 -> 신상)
          B. Click on the Change button -> Make changes-> Save (Click on 변경 button -> Make changes - Click on 저장 button)
      4. Contact person: Kim, Eun-ju at Academic Affairs Team (279-2443)
 
■ Pre-Graduation Check
 1. Period: Fri. June 1, 2012 – Fri. June 8, 2012 (6 pm)

 2. Requirements for graduation
   - Overall GPA must be 3.0 or above.
   - Completed all credit requirements for the student’s major and the admission year
     ※ Minimum required graduation credits: MS 28 Credits, PhD 32 Credits 
     ※ Particularly, all coursework requirements must be met. (Coursework requirements: MS 18 Credits, PhD 12 Credits)
   - Also, submit the Report on Final Thesis Defense (MS and PhD) ~June 29, 2012
     
 3. Things to remember        
    A. Graduating Students must personally confirm his/her course completion status and graduation requirements by visiting or inquiring to each corresponding department.
    B. If it is necessary to change course classification (ex; core requirement, major elective, etc.) during the graduation requirement check, fill out Change of Course Classification Form and submit the form to GIFT admin. office. (Course classification change deadline: Fri. June 29, 2012)

■ 졸업 전체 일정
 - 조기졸업 신청: 2012. 6. 1(금) ~ 6.15(금) 까지
 - 졸업정산 신청: 2012. 6. 1(금) ~ 6.15(금) 까지
 - 영문성명 확인: 2012. 6. 1(금) ~ 6.29(금) 까지
 - 졸업요건 확인: 2012. 6. 1(금) ~ 6. 8(금) 18:00 까지
 - 대학원생 논문심사결과보고서 제출 마감: ~ 2012. 6.29(금) 까지
 - 2011학년도 후기 학위수여: 2012.8.10(금)
 
■ 졸업정산 신청 (졸업대상자 필수)

1. 목적
 가. 졸업예정자 졸업 여부 확인 (졸업요건 확인 안내 참고)
 나. 졸업예정자와 관련된 각 행정부서의 후속 조치

2. 기간 : 2012. 6. 1(금) ~ 6.15(금) 까지

3. 방법: POVIS(https://povis.postech.ac.kr/irj/portal)로 Login한 후, Academic Affairs → 졸업 → 졸업정산신청 → 생성 버튼 클릭 → 내용 작성→ 저장 버튼 클릭

4. 신청 후, 반드시 확인해야 할 사항

 가. 도서대출
  - 대출 중인 도서는 2012.1.5(목)까지 모두 반납하여야 함.
  - 대출 중인 도서를 분실하였을 경우, 동일도서를 구입하여 반납하여야 함.
  - 2012.1.5(목) 이후 신규 대출은 불가하나, 졸업일 전까지 출입은 가능함.

 나. 대학원생 학위논문 제출
   1) 전자파일 전송 및 원문(Fulltext) 공개동의서(전자파일 변환 승인후) 1부: 도서관 홈페이지 (http://library.postech.ac.kr
   2) 학위논문 책자(Hard cover) 4부,
   - 일자 : 2011.12.22 ~ 2012.1.5 (예정)
   - 장소 : 청암학술정보관 210호,

다. 전화요금
- 전화요금 납부대상자(대학원아파트 거주자)는 졸업정산 신청 후, 퇴사 일정을 정보시스템팀에 통보하여야 함
- 일정 기간 대학원아파트 체류 대상자는 퇴사시에 반드시 전화요금 납부 및 전화 정지 신청을 정보시스템팀에 의뢰한 후 퇴사 하여야 함

라. 기숙사 및 대학원아파트 퇴사
- 대학원아파트 및 기숙사 거주자는 개인 물품을 완전하게 정리한 후,
- 주거운영팀에 퇴사 절차를 이행하여야 함

마. 주소 변경
- POVIS에서 주소를 확인하고, 변경사항이 있을 경우 변경하기 바람
- 방법: POVIS LOGIN -> Academic Affairs -> 개인정보 -> 주소 -> 변경할 주소 행 클릭 -> 변경 버튼 클릭 -> 수정 -> 저장
