2013 Khan International Medal to Prof. Barlat
Prof. Frédéric Barlat, the Director of MML has been selected to be awarded the 2013 Khan International Medal for outstanding life-long contributions to the field of Plasticity which is associated with the International Journal of Plasticity.
The Medal will be conferred at the upcoming January 2013 meeting in the Bahamas.
※ The evaluation was conducted on the basis of the criteria below.
▶ Criteria for the Khan International Medal:
- Outstanding contributions to the field of Plasticity, contributions which have had a strong impact on the scientific
foundations and engineering applications of our field.
- In addition to this broad requirement, the committee bases its selection on the following four criteria:
Criterion # 1: 30 points based on total citations of all journal papers related to plasticity, with a broad view of what
constitutes a paper in the field of plasticity.
Criterion # 2: 25 points based on the quality and quantity of research contributions to the field of plasticity,
as judged by each committee member
Criterion # 3: 20 points based on other contributions to the field of plasticity, e.g. books, monographs, book
chapters, conference & symposium organizations, etc., as judged by each committee member
Criterion # 4: 25 points based on total citations of all papers published in IJP.
