ABSTRACT
This report provides an overview of HMnS, its research, and its use in Vietnam. This kind of steel is widely used in Vietnam as well as many heavy industries such as mining and cement. Several studies have been carried out to increase the toughness and therefore the use of parts produced from this steel. Studies suggest that alloying elements such as Mn, Cr, V... are added in a reasonable and valid ratio to improve on the good qualities of this steel type. Additionally, the improvement of the heat treatment process for these steels improving the microstructure as well as the steel's strength, which increases the workability of the parts.
