About Lab.

SEOL is a research group at the Graduate Institute of Ferrous & Eco Materials Technology (GIFT), POSTECH. We investigate how processing controls microstructure and how microstructure determines the performance of steels and alloys. Our work combines atom probe tomography, electron microscopy, diffraction techniques, and machine learning to understand material behavior and guide alloy and process design. Current research covers microstructure analysis, aerospace and defense materials, metal additive manufacturing, and AI-assisted materials analysis. We aim to develop durable, sustainable materials by connecting atomic-scale characterization with quantitative analysis and predictive modeling.
