Mr. Mats Engström, Science and Innovation Counsellor at the Swedish Embassy visited POSTECH and GIFT on April 14th. As he was interested in innovative iron-making processes using low grade ores and coals with less pollution materials and CO2 emission, he had a discussion with Prof. Sung-Mo Jung and Se-Kyun Kwon. Then he toured Research Facility Center and Large Scale Lab of GIFT.
Mr. Mats Engström is Science and Innovation Counsellor at the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo, also covering Korea. Earlier, he worked in the Swedish Ministry for the Environment for ten years and held positions as Director of the International Department and Deputy State Secretary. He has also been an advisor to a former Swedish Foreign Minister and Editor-in-Chief of the major Swedish technology magazine, Ny Teknik. Before taking up the position in Tokyo in November 2015, he analyzed energy and environmental policy developments in Europe and other parts of the world at the Swedish government agency Growth Analysis in Stockholm.
