  • Graduate courses in other departments (6 credits can be taken per semester under consultation with the advisor)
  • 400 undergraduate courses (up to 6 credits accepted)
  • Notes on taking research credits : Graduate school research credit courses include the following subjects.
    For the master's program, students must complete at least two semesters of seminar courses.
  • Master's and doctoral thesis research
  • Seminar at the GIFT, Seminar in other departments
  • Foreign language course

Graduation Requirements by Course

The master's course

  • You must complete the required subjects (18) and research credits (10) for graduation.
  • Master's thesis evaluation : 3 judges including the advisor are selected and judged.

Ph.D. and Integrated Program

  • To complete the doctoral program, students must complete the required subjects (12) and research credits (20) for graduation.
  • To complete the integrated course, students must complete the required subjects (30) and research credits (30) for graduation.
  • Doctoral Qualification Test: You must pass the prescribed doctoral qualification test set by the department.
  • Paper publication: One or more papers must be published in the international academic journal (SCI) determined by the department.
  • Doctoral dissertation review: 5 judges including the advisor are selected and evaluated. At least one of the five judges is selected by the tutor, and the majority must be professors at the Graduate Institute of Ferrous & Energy Materials Technology.

Doctoral Qualification Exam

Admission Requirements - Doctoral student and enrolled in 3 semesters or more
- Complete 12 course credits before taking the exam (recommended to complete all courses within 2 semesters after admission)
- GPA of 3.0 / 4.3 or higher
Time - Anytime during the 3rd or 4th semester of doctoral and integrated courses
Time - About 2 hours Judge - Doctoral program: same as doctoral thesis judge composition
- Integrated process: 3 judges including advisor, GIFT professors at the Graduate Institute of Ferrous & Energy Materials Technology must be a majority
Acceptance Criteria and Judgment - Passed or failed according to the deliberation of the judges Condition - Applicants who fail the first test are given the opportunity to retake the test only once within 4 semesters after admission
