In October, there was the 2nd Ferrous Technology Solution and Idea Contest organized by the Korean Institute of Metals and Materials (KIM+) subcommittee on steel, sponsored by POSCO. Fahmi Tafwidli and Dong-Hyun Kim (M.S. course students, CSL) won an excellence award in the Idea contest, in the subject of CO2 reduction measures in the steelmaking process. They presented their idea in the title of “Calcium Ferrite Formation from BOF Slag and CO2 reduction effect” which was advised by Prof Youn-Bae Kang.
