2015 Summer GIFT Internship Program was held from July 7th to 31th for 4 weeks. 25 students from 21 different colleges applied this program, and only the 5 students from 3 different colleges were selected to attend it. They participated in research projects in separate laboratories like MRL, ATL, SSL, CML, EML according to their research interests and aptitudes. They were supported 400,000KRW as a bursary, round trip transportation fee and accommodation.
After four weeks’ internship period, all the participants expressed that they were deeply impressed by GIFT’s research environment of the highest quality with all the research equipment and facilities. In addition, having chances to participate in the research projects close to the industrial field and to experience active research interchanges, it seems to be the biggest attraction of GIFT for engineering students to focus on practical studies.
Many of the participants reported that they came to take into account applying GIFT, and 2 of them actually applied for 2016 MS program.
