​25 visitors including 18 students, 5 researchers and 2 professors of Uni Leoben visited GIFT on September 17th early in the morning.

They gathered at the GIFT auditorium #101 and listened to Prof. Youn-Bae Kang’s introduction about GIFT. After a short break, Profs. Sung-Mo Jung, Youn-Bae Kang, and Jung-Wook Cho presented brief lectures on reduction, casting and melting of steel, which the visitors are interested in, for one and a half hours. And then all the visitors toured the RFC and LSL led by Prof. Yoon-Uk Heo and had lunch at the rooftop cafeteria with host professors of GIFT. Despite the windy and rainy weather, all the visitors from Uni Leoben were very active and positive both in attending 3 professors’ lectures and in experiencing foreign culture like foods and languages.

Montanuniversität Leoben is a distinguished university of technology specialized in metallurgy, located in the city Leoben of Steiermark province, southeast region of Austria. Leoben is famous for the major producer of iron ore and its advancement in iron and steel producing industry from hundreds of year ago.
