The retirement & recommendation ceremony of Prof. Sang Chul Won was held on January 29th 6 pm at the Grand Ballroom of POSCO International Center. Prof. Younyoung Jeong of electrical engineering department, POSTECH and Prof. Sangmoon Lee of Daegu University presided over the ceremony, and over one hundred and fifty guests came to congratulate Prof. Won and to celebrate his achievements.

Prof. Sang Chul Won was appointed to a professor of the department of electrical engineering and devoted himself as a professor and a researcher both in the department of electrical engineering and in the Graduate Institute of Ferrous Technology from May 1st 1987 to February 29th 2016, pioneering the research in control engineering field, educating students with passion, and contributing to POSTECH’s development into one of the leading science and engineering colleges of the world.

Having been credited for his efforts in education and research, and the contribution to POSTECH, Prof. Won was appointed to an emeritus professor of POSTECH. Many people celebrated this, especially his students with a greater appreciation.
