Professor Barlat is the organizer of a course (36 lectures) onthe Description and Modeling of Forming and Performance of Steel Products,which will be held in Udine, Italy, at the end of September 2022. This courseis part of a larger educational project called "Steel X Future" ledby Professor Fabio Miani at the University of Udine. Professor Bhadeshia, aformer GIFT professor, has also prepared two courses (12 lectures) within thisframework on phase transformations and on structure-property relationships insteels. A special collaboration agreement between Udine university and theInternational Center for Mechanical Sciences (CISM), also located in Udine, wasestablished to take advantage of the experience and support of CISM to organizesuch an event. In fact, CISM is a well-known organization that proposes everyyear a summer program of courses, seminars, workshops, symposia, andconferences to present the state of the art in the wide field of mechanicalsciences to researchers (https://www.cism.it/en/). The international prestige of CISM is well established inEurope and beyond.
